The 2008 IZIP EZGO Electric Folding Bicycle

This is my first video. I bought this electric folding bike to get me to work and I really like it. The bike weighs about 50 lbs and goes about 20 mph. You don’t need any kind of License or tag or anything to ride it. There is a new federal law that makes it street legal.

Damn, those folded dimensions you give (24″ x 34″ x 34″) would make the bike oversized on airline checked luggage … looks like a $175(!) extra fee on Delta at least. I wish there was a cheap electric assist bike I could take with me on trips….

That looks nice n nippy. I have had an older Electrice Bike for about five years. Will sell it now now i have this newer model

lol, well to be honest I was using one when I made this video but I am just not that great at making videos. I had the whole contraption in the air while I was walking around the bike and then set the tripod when I was about to ride up the hill and back. If I had had an 8 year old with me I am sure they could have done it perfect. I just kills me how good the kids today are at doing this stuff.

24 inches wide 34 inches tall and 34 inches long. I may not be the best folder in the world but those are the measurement I just took with it comnpletely folded.

Also would it be possible if you could let me know what the dimensions are after the bike is folded up? I cant seem to find that info out anywhere, Id like to buy one and a carry bag for it but I need to know the dimensions when folded , ty

  8. IC104everywhere says:

Where did ya get the seat from?

as long as it is just a light rain, no problem but not really advisable. There would be puddles of water that could be a problem if you hit them. You can minimize the risk of electrical problems by weatherizing your ebike. There is a video on youtube, just search for “Electric Bikes and Wet Weather” and it should be the first video that pops up.

is it safe to ride it when its raining out?

I just bought it now. I’m considering posting a video review after I’ve tried it and seen if it work for my situation. I’ve got 9 miles to work so 18 miles round trip.

  12. electricbikeman says:

no probem, I wish there had been more postings like this one when I was looking at buying one myself which is why I did it. Sure wasn’t for my filming skills, lol.

Nice video. I’m lookin’ for a starter ebike. This is much better than any literature or description. Thanks.

30 mph is downhill really, I don’t have a speed meter so I am not sure exactly how fast it’s going but I can tell it’s going at least 30mph or better. On level ground I doubt yours going to get better than 20mph out of it but that is plenty fast if your in no hurry.

    Thank you very much sir!

There is a good video here on youtube about making your bike more weather resistant. I tried to post a link to it but for some reason it won’t let me so just search for “Electric Bikes and Wet Weather” and it should be the first video that pops up.

  22. electricbikeman says:

You would be better off not going into puddles with it as it could get into the motor and connections and yeah you could ride in a very light rain with no problem, I have a couple of times.

I’m not a young man and look funny as hell riding the thing but I’m saving lots of money on gas and laughing all the way to the bank :)

    Enjoy your new ride !

  23. harrvey says:

    Great video!(for someone who doesn’t have a helper) :)
I have this exact same model but I haven’t ridden it yet.
I have a couple of questions for you. Would it be possible to ride this in the rain or on puddles. Would the battery/motor short circuit?

  24. trismealey says:

srry i didn’t read the description! great video i plan to get this or the regular i-zip soon! thanks for the help!

  25. electricbikeman says:

nope, no certain age. It’s considered a regular bike under federal law.
