Schwinn is a name that is well known in fitness circles. They are the most respected name in bicycles and exercise bikes all around the globe. They started making bikes in the year 1895 in Chicago and have been going strong since then. In the beginning, they focused mainly on racing bikes, but later on moved their attention to kids’ bicycles. They are extremely popular among people who want to build a home gym. The Schwinn recumbent exercise bike is the perfect exercise gear to buy for people who haven’t exercised ever in their lives and also for people who have a regular exercise program. Though Schwinn also makes upright exercise bikes and elliptical trainers, the Schwinn recumbent exercise bike is the most popular.

Schwinn recumbent exercise bikes come in four different models to meet different needs of people. The prices range from $ 250 to $650. The Schwinn Active Series 20 recumbent exercise bike is the lowest priced while the Schwinn 231 recumbent exercise bike is the top-of the line model. All models are equipped with a handgrip heart sensor that will be able to tell exactly what the pulse rate is of the person who is exercising on it. You can adjust the seat by setting a knob and even slide the seat backward and forward. Setting it up in a way that keeps your knees only slightly bent is the best. The control panel will let you set the resistance you want for a particular workout session. The model nos. 230 and 231 offer 16 levels of resistance for you to choose from while the model nos. 20 and 203 come with 8 levels. The great thing about model no. 231 is that it comes with 23 in-built workout programs. You can choose to “Ride in the park”, “Pyramid intervals” or “Rolling hills”. Yes those are the name of the programs! Model no. 231 also comes with a beautiful backlit LCD screen that will tell you the time, distance, pulse, resistance, RPM, watts, calories and speed.

All the models of the Schwinn recumbent exercise bike come with comfortable seats with lumbar support that will let you really feel that you are working out. You can also opt to have a magazine holder, a water bottle holder, an adjustable fan, adjustable LCD angle and transport wheel on your bike if you want.

The most important reasons you should choose to buy a Schwinn recumbent exercise bike instead of an upright bike are:

* Solid construction
* Heavy fly wheel
* Comfortable seating
* Very little sound
* High-quality LCD screens that come with all the statistics you need
* Great variety of in-built workout programs for you to choose from
* Easily movable around the house as it comes with wheels

Apart from all these, each Schwinn recumbent exercise bike comes with a 10 year frame warranty, 1 year electrical and mechanical warranty, 6 months wear warranty and 90 days labor warranty. So go ahead and start exercising!

It’s almost here…the end of another year. If you’re like me, that means you will be eating A LOT from now until New Year’s Day. This is not good. It’s really not good if you live in a very cold climate, with a very long winter season, like me. Sounds like a job for the Schwinn recumbent bike!!

Even though you may live in a cold climate, and may be facing weeks of nasty weather which prohibits you from exercising, don’t let that stop you from attaining your weight, fitness and energy goals. That is why we love exercise bikes! The Schwinn recumbent bike is just one option. The final decision on which type of exercise bike is best for you will all depend on your specific health and/or fitness goals.

For example, is your goal to lose weight? Is it to shape up and tighten muscle tone? Are you looking to strengthen your legs due to an injury or surgery? It is important to identify the reason you need the exercise bike, then do some research to find out which is the best for your specific needs and/or goals.

Exercise bikes are great because you can work out in the privacy of your own home, work out at your own pace, jump on for 10 minutes – then come back sometime later for 10 more minutes. And again, you need not let inclement weather stop you.

As we all know, exercise is key for keeping our bodies healthy, our weight down, relieving stress and keeping energy levels up. An exercise bike is a great place to start because it lets you adjust the level, resistance and difficulty of your regimen.

If you haven’t worked out in ages, you want to start slowly and build your way up to a more challenging pace. It’s not a bad idea to run it past your doctor, just to be on the safe side.

If your New Year’s resolution includes getting more (or some!) exercise, an exercise bike – whether it be a recumbent bike, magnetic resistance or other – is an excellent place to start.

Happy cycling!

Schwinn recumbent bikes provide a flexible and comfortable means for you to obtain your workout without breaking the bank or putting too much strain on your knees or lower back. But are they still the best exercise machines for you and your particular circumstance?

Recumbent bikes are designed so that your weight is not over your legs but instead behind them. This means the gravity of your body’s weight doesn’t push downwards over them putting strain on your knees and other lower body bones and joints. Additionally, a recumbent bike enables you to lean backwards and still maintain a proper fitness posture, so you don’t have to hold your shoulders and arms up with the your stomach and back muscles like you do with a regular upright exercise bike.

You need to consider Schwinn recumbent bikes for two main reasons. First of all, Schwinn has been designining, manufacturing and selling bicycles of all kinds since 1895 — yes, 1895! And unlike many other long-running companies, Schwinn has been specializing in various styles and types of bicycles for that entire time. They survived and thrived through the Great Depression and they maintained their focus and independence during the merger explosions of the Information Age. Suffice to say, they probably understand a thing or two about any bicycles much less stationary bikes.

Second of all, they have an incredibly comfortable seat. That may seem like an odd and specific point to raise, but when you plan on using a piece of exercise equipment almost every day for several years and you need to be able to focus on your fitness while not worrying about your comfort, you start to understand the greater importance of something like the bike seat.

Schwinn recumbent bikes feature the patented Bio-Fit Comfort Seat. After you’ve sat in one of these, you will never view aerobic activity the same.

Schwinn Recumbent Bikes also feature evolved deluxe LCD monitors for you to track your workout and monitor your progress. Several of them even have grip sensors for measuring your pulse and heart rate.

Schwinn recumbent bikes also feature a low price point and small space footprint, for fitting into your budget and for fitting into your home.

It seems that recumbent bikes are becoming big news these days. With their popularity growing, one of the big questions people have is about safety. Are recumbents safe to ride on the streets? How safe are they compared to other bicycles? Here’s a look.

One of the big advantages in riding a recumbent bike is the comfort level. It is truly a unique experience. Unlike a standard bike where you are hunched over the handlebars, you sit back on a recumbent. The wide padded seat is comfortable and there is virtually no stress on your knees and back.

Riding one of these bikes is somewhat like driving a car. You are sitting back like you would behind the wheel. It’s also very relaxing and allows you a full view net only a front of you, but to the sides as well.

One of the things you will really like on a recumbent is going downhill. It is so much fun, and you can really build up speed. This is due mainly to having a lower center of gravity and better aerodynamics than regular bicycles do.

The safety issue is where the recumbent bike holds a huge edge. You are able to see cars all around you much easier than being on a bicycle. It’s easy to look next to you and have eye contact with any motorist.

Another reason for their safety is that cars will automatically pay more attention to you because these bikes are still not something you see on the read everyday. They are looking at your more often than not just to check out the bike and trying to understand how it works.

It is amazing at the many differences between these two bikes. You will quickly begin to enjoy the many benefits of recumbent bikes, not to mention the increased fun they provide.
